Product

System hall
structures

Complete timber frame hall structures as a system, planned and manufactured for commercial and industrial use.

  • ≤ 70 mSpan
  • ≤ R60Fire resistance achievable economically
  • 1Structure entirely from a single source

Overview

Why timber structures from LIGNA systems?

Our timber structures are based on a proven system construction method that combines flexibility and stability. For every requirement we choose the right structural form, from the three-hinged frame and the solid-web girder to the truss girder, with clear spans of up to 70 m. Thanks to the predictable fire behaviour of timber, fire resistances of up to R60 can be achieved economically. You benefit from high cost efficiency and short construction times, planned precisely and integrated to fit your building project.

Industrial hall in timber with an exposed structure

The right structural form

Three-hinged frame, truss girder or solid-web girder. We choose the structure that suits your building geometry, not the other way round.

Timber building with an integrated intermediate floor, Falkemedia media house

Integrated intermediate floors

As a joist floor or a solid timber floor, planned directly into the structure. Office or storage level, without a separate trade.

Yellow overhead bridge crane on its runway, carried by the timber structure of a commercial hall, with timber columns and roof beams

Integrated crane runways

In timber or steel, planned and delivered along with the rest. The loads run cleanly into the main structure.

Charred timber beam: protective charring layer on the outside, load-bearing timber core intact on the inside

Predictable fire behaviour

Timber burns slowly and predictably: it forms a protective charring layer around the load-bearing core, and the cross-section retains a defined load-bearing capacity. Thanks to this fire behaviour, fire resistances of up to R60 can be achieved economically, where the industrial construction directive requires them for larger fire compartments.

What we deliver

Everything from a single source

One point of contact from planning to delivery.

  • Structural design & detailing Calculations and approval-ready execution drawings from our own engineering office.
  • Columns Pinned and fixed columns as well as impact protection, suited to the load case.
  • Girders Three-hinged frame, truss or solid-web girder depending on the geometry.
  • Purlins & rails Roof and wall beams, matched to the main system.
  • Secondary framing For façades as well as window, gate and door reveals.
  • Intermediate floors & mezzanine As a joist floor or a solid timber floor.
  • Crane runway beams In timber, integrated directly into the structure.
  • Stairwell & lift shaft Planned and delivered in timber.
  • Column bases Finished column bases for the connection to the foundation.
  • Steel parts & all fasteners Gusset plates, connections and fasteners included.

Delivery & assembly

How you receive your structure

  • As a kit

Prefabricated, ready-to-fit components. You handle the assembly.

  • With assembly support

Your team assembles, a LIGNA supervisor guides and safeguards the process.

  • Fully assembled

We assemble the complete structure on your site.
