LIGNA systems production hall in Sankt Vith with trusses and Hundegger line

Our factory in Sankt Vith

Production in our own factory

Five stations, one roof: in Sankt Vith your structure is built from cutting to ship-ready.

Production in Europe

Highly automated production across 8,000 m² of floor space with maximum quality

Our production in Europe combines precision, efficiency and the latest technology. Every project is realised in our modern plant in Belgium with the greatest care and attention to detail.

Station 01 · Cutting

Hundegger K2i cutting: driven from the 3D model

It all starts with cutting: our Hundegger K2i line carries out millings, saw cuts, drillings and slots. No manual marking, no transferring dimensions by hand: the machine control works directly on the 3D model from planning.

Our staff then visually inspect every component and rework edges and countersinks by hand. Each part is numbered and labelled, so it stays clearly identifiable from the factory to the site.

Station 02 · Paint shop

Five-sided protection, water-based

After cutting, the components are planed, sanded and brushed, then the Stäubli painting robot takes over: it applies water-based coating fully automatically on five sides.

After drying, the components go straight to pre-assembly. The surface arrives on site already protected, not treated there.

Station 03 · Pre-assembly

Assembled in the factory, checked in the factory

In pre-assembly, the coated components are joined with their steel parts: trusses, frame corners and infill timbers are built as complete assemblies.

The advantage lies in control: every connection is assembled and checked in the factory, under workshop conditions instead of on the scaffold in wind and weather.

Station 04 · CNC milling

CNC wood machining in three dimensions

The CNC mill machines all wood panels in three dimensions: anchor templates and connection plates for roof purlins and roof bracing are made here, driven from the same 3D model as the cutting.

We also produce special parts on this machine, up to turntables for aircraft hangars.

Station 05 · Metalwork

Steel where steel belongs

Even a LIGNA systems timber structure does not entirely do without steel: slotted-in plates, beam hangers and column bases connect the timber components to each other and to the foundation.

These steel elements are made in our own metal shop: plasma-cut from the 3D drawing and welded, numbered and then hot-dip galvanised to protect against corrosion.
