How we work together

You want to build large halls in timber. Then we are your structural partner.

As an engineering firm with our own production, we deliver the complete structure as a kit, including structural calculations to Eurocode and all connectors. You erect and close in the hall. For commercial buildings from 1,000 m².

What we deliver

The complete structure, from one source.

We only plan and calculate what we actually deliver. That way the responsibilities are clear.

Our offer is binding. What we quote is what applies.

Planning & structural design

Planned and calculated in-house.

We calculate the structure to Eurocode and design it fully in a 3D model, from the structural design to the CNC timber cutting. You receive position, timber, shop, execution and assembly drawings as PDF, DWG/DXF or IFC. We plan in Cadwork, and on request you receive the model for your roofing and fit-out planning.

Frequently asked questions

What wood construction firms want to know before requesting a quote.

What is included in the timber hall kit?

The complete structure: column bases, columns, girders, purlins, rails and bracing in glulam, plus intermediate floors, crane runway beams and substructures as required, all steel parts and connectors, as well as the structural calculations and all drawings. Delivered at a fixed price. Foundation and footings, building envelope, roof covering with its certifications, and assembly remain your responsibility.

Who carries the calculation risk?

We do, based on the agreed load assumptions. You receive a binding fixed offer; the risk of correctly calculating quantities and structural design for the stated loads lies with LIGNA systems, not with you. You specify the use loads, for example for intermediate floors and the roof build-up, as well as the location for snow and wind load. The fixed price applies on this basis. If these assumptions change later, we adjust the structure and offer transparently.

Do you provide structural calculations that can be submitted for approval?

In Germany, we provide structural calculations to Eurocode formatted for submission with the building permit application; in other countries, we provide structural calculations to Eurocode. The official review of the structural safety documentation follows the relevant national building code and is commissioned by the permit applicant. If the official review requires adjustments to our calculations, we carry out the adjustment.

How does the structure connect to the foundation?

The hot-dip galvanized steel column bases are rigidly connected to the timber columns; we supply the structural verification of the timber-to-steel and steel-to-steel connections. For the foundation, you receive the characteristic column loads as well as the position and diameter of the steel anchors as a planning basis. Two approaches are common: cast-in steel anchors, designed by the project's structural engineer, or a point foundation with threaded rods and grout provided on site. Sizing and anchoring in the concrete, as well as column impact protection, remain your responsibility.

What fire resistance does the structure achieve?

R30 (30-minute fire resistance) is standard. Up to R60 can be achieved cost-effectively through the structurally required cross-section, to Eurocode. The achievable class depends on cross-section, load pattern and cladding; the case-by-case verification is what governs.

How is the kit delivered?

Every component is tracked by barcode and loaded in your assembly sequence. Within Europe, we deliver directly to the job site; worldwide, as container shipments.

Do you assemble the structure yourselves?

No, with the kit you carry out the assembly yourself. Dovetail joints and pre-drilled bolting points, along with numbered parts referenced in the assembly drawings, make assembly unambiguous.

Do you support the assembly?

On request, an experienced assembly supervisor can accompany your assembly or support you during the first days at the start of assembly.
